After 20 years in which the province of Buenos Aires was responsible, except for four years of PRO government, the Chief of Cabinet, Guillermo Francos, announced that the reconstruction plan for Bahía Blanca after the severe storm must be coordinated by the province and the municipality, with the support of the Nation.
"The plan to rebuild the city is the responsibility of the municipality and the province, and the Nation will do everything in its power economically to support this situation," emphasized Francos in radio statements. Acknowledging the magnitude of the tragedy that left 16 fatalities in Bahía Blanca, the Chief of Cabinet indicated that the recovery of the city will take time and that the National Government will collaborate with the province in all necessary matters.
In coordination with the municipal and provincial governments, the National Government is willing to support the planning carried out by the province of Buenos Aires for the reconstruction. After the Ministry of Economy sent 10 billion for assistance to the city, following a request from the provincial minister Carlos Bianco, Guillermo Francos noted that this was the first step and that a new financial contribution cannot be ruled out.
The official mentioned that President Javier Milei is considering the possibility of visiting Bahía Blanca, assessing when his emotional support will be most needed. Additionally, he reaffirmed the Government's stance to promote public works from the private sector and held the previous administration responsible for the consequences of natural disasters. Francos concluded by highlighting the current Government's willingness to alleviate the current situation and prevent future emergencies.
